Saratoga Race Course
An eleven race card will close a memorable 2009 meet at Saratoga. Among the highlights of 2009 at Saratoga were Rachel Alexandra winning the Woodward against older males, Hot Dixie Chick showing promise in the Schuylerville and showing she is for real in the Spinaway, the top 5 sprinters in America meeting up in the Vanderbilt, Summer Bird's victory in the Travers and the improbability of Linda Rice with her small stable leading Todd Pletcher for the training title on the last day of the meet.
The $300,000 Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes is the feature on closing day at the Spa. The race is carded at 7 furlongs for two year olds over the main track and a field of twelve is set to contest the race.
