Iselin Attracts Quality Field

Monmouth Park

The Phillip H. Iselin Stakes may now be a Grade 3 race but it still offers a $300,000 purse and still attracts a quality field. The Iselin is carded for three year olds and upward and will be run at 1 1/8 miles over the main track. A field of 7 will contest the race.

Horses To Watch for the Iselin

Coal Play
He has won two straight including the Salvatore Mile on this track with a 110 Beyer. There is speed to his outside but he will likely be the best of the speed in this race. Joe Bravo rides for Nick Zito.

Solar Flare
He ran 3rd in the Salvatore Mile but has two 100+ Beyers so far at this meet. Trainer wins a high percentage of graded stakes and trainer/jockey combo wins at 34% in 2009. Gabriel Saez rides for Larry Jones.

Chirac
He won three in a row at this track before running 4th in an overnight stakes in his last. Trainer/jockey combo wins at 36% this year and he would have to improve but he has a chance to do that here. Elvis Trujillo rides for Jane Cibelli.
